‘A major addition to the Company’s
boardroom is the specially commissioned oil painting of the
fleet in port at Douglas. It was commissioned from one of
the world’s leading maritime artists, Robert Lloyd whose
work is highly valued and much sought after. Robert himself
visited the island to present the picture at a reception in
the company’s head office. It was unveiled by Mrs Joan
Gelling, wife of the island’s Chief Minister who had
in 1998 launched the Company’s flagship, Ben My Chree.’
